Losing a Landscape: Havant Thicket Reservoir
Frankie Knight
This project chronicles the ancient woodlands and rare grasslands that have been irrevocably altered by the construction of the Havant Thicket Reservoir. Through portraits and recorded sounds, the voices of the community and the essence of the landscape are captured, preserving a poignant moment in time before the transformation began.
The photographs, taken on medium format film, were developed using locally harvested seaweed and fixed with saltwater. This innovative technique underscores a commitment to sustainability and offers an alternative to traditional photographic processes.
