During the peak tourist season, coastal locations in the UK generate substantial revenue, significantly boosting local and regional economies. Portsmouth's tourism revenue in peak months, July and August, can range from £106 million to £133 million, reflecting about 20-25% of its annual total. While exact figures vary by location, the summer months contribute a major portion of annual revenue however these locations still operate throughout the rest of the year. "Out of Season" explores this off period, focusing on Portsmouth, capture venues or doing activities that are usually considered summer must haves but are a weekly occurrence for locals. Artist biography

Billie Rae Cawte is a Portsmouth-born photographic artist and technician renowned for her evocative documentation of nostalgic and seaside themes. Growing up by the coast, Billie’s work reflects her deep love for the seaside and its year-round charm. Her unique perspective has earned her features in multiple exhibitions across the UK, celebrating her passion for capturing the essence of coastal life and tourism.
