Revealing Horizons: Unseen Connections
Fama Diouf
In "Revealing Horizons: Unseen Connections," Fama Sioux explores the interplay between visible and invisible realms through her black-and-white and infrared photography. Known for recontextualizing historical and cultural figures within an African framework, Fama’s earlier work challenges societal norms by presenting fresh perspectives on identity and history. The stark contrasts of her black-and-white images strip away distractions, revealing core truths and universal human experiences.
Building on this, her new project, "Infra Red: What the Eye Does Not See," delves into the hidden layers of reality, capturing what lies beyond the visible spectrum. The eerie, surreal quality of infrared photography transforms ordinary scenes into extraordinary narratives, inviting viewers to question their perceptions and uncover deeper truths. This exhibition seamlessly bridges these two approaches, encouraging exploration of the spaces between perception and reality, and celebrating the connections that unite us all.
