Monochromatic Experiments
Reigate School of Art presents Monochromatic Experiments,
led by Photography Course Leader Denise Felkin. The project aims to give young students a platform to present their work in a professional environment and gain valuable work experience within the creative media industry.
Reigate School of Art Photography Department
We are a group of first and second-year Level 3 Creative Media, Technology & Production students aged 16-19 studying Photography at Reigate School of Art. We present Monochromic Experiments inspired by Anna Atkins, Man Ray and Herbert Bayer. Our exhibition combines analogue & digital techniques using the technology, resources, and materials within our photographic department.
The Common Ground for all photographers is that the two most important parts of the body that relate to image-making are the hands and eyes.
Second year students led the project and juxtaposed hands and eyes to make composites in Photoshop.
First year students used the darkroom to create photograms of their hands, and overlaid digital images of eyes in post-production.
